Honeymoon 2004
I returned to where our dreams were to start; but where my nightmares still haunt. The hotel, no longer romantic wooden huts opening onto the beach. Rebuilt of bricks, deep foundations holding it in secure modernity. Sweet smelling jasmine climbs the multi-story walls in place of the palms.
Our Christmas honeymoon in this Thai resort still peppers my memories. Those unwanted strong arms that pulled me back while I reached for you. They held me safe as your hand slipped from mine and the tsunami claimed you.
Precious is the hand I now clasp. Unknowingly, you left me our son.
